The Nigerian Community, through the National Charitable Fund, its  sister non profit organization, will present its 10th  Annual Health Fair on Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 11:00amto 3:00pm. The Healthfair will be held at the Fatima Community Center on 6600 Lexington Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44103.
The Healthfair will be in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Public Library, City of Cleveland, Â Cuyahoga Community College, Catholic Charities, NEON, Forest City Dental Society, Gilead Sciences, Inc., and several other local organizations.
Since 2009,  the Nigerian Community has provided  free health screening to more than 4000 people from across greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio; event proceeds have also supported the Scholarship Program which has awarded more than $25,000 merit based scholarships to about 50 deserving College students.
Free screening for  Blood Pressure, Lead  and Diabetes are offered. Other areas of screening and/or advising include Foot Ailment, Lung Health, Sickle Cell, Dental health, medicine/prescription review, Prenatal, child, adolescent, women, men, and senior healthcare information will also be available.
No appointment is necessary. Refreshments and light entertainment will be  available. Free transportation will be provided from designated locations for those who would need transportation to and from the Health Fair.
The Nigerian Community is blessed with  physician, nurse, pharmacist, allied health and other volunteers who generously donate their talents, expertise, time and resources each year to give back to the Community in which they have been fortunate to live and raise their family in peace and without fear. The annual Health Fair is but one other way to highlight our community’s commitment to total integration into our adopted homeland.
